College Civics tour: pie & politics at SVC

by Brian Zylstra | May 7th, 2013

Many college students like to talk politics. Even more like to eat pie. When you combine the two, you end up with a fun event like the Pie & Politics gathering at Skagit Valley College Tuesday afternoon. SVC culinary students baked the pies for the occasion. Secretary Wyman is shown answering a question at the event as Mount Vernon Mayor Jill Boudreau listens. The visit to SVC was the third of four stops that Wyman is making Tuesday as part of her College Civics tour. She visited Whatcom Community College and Western Washington University this morning in Bellingham. Tonight Wyman meets with students at Pacific Lutheran University in Tacoma. The College Civics tour ends Wednesday with stops at Tacoma Community College, University of Washington Tacoma, Bellevue College and the University of Washington’s main campus in Seattle.
