‘Election Day’ is here — be counted!

Washington’s election season culminates Tuesday, at least until the counting starts.  For all except some poll-site voters in Pierce County, Election Day is really Postmark Day for our ballots. That means if your mail ballot doesn’t have a valid Tuesday postmark, or unless you’ve used a dropoff box or carted your ballot directly in to the county elections office or an official voting center like they’ve opened in King County, it won’t count.  That would be really sad. You’ve got mail! (Or you will soon … )

Keep an eye out for your ballot when you check your mailbox! Ballots are being mailed out to registered voters across Washington State for the August 18 Primary that will impact 36 of Washington’s 39 counties. Fifteen counties will vote on state-level races. Today, King County sent out over 1 million ballots to registered voters. All counties have already mailed out ballots on July 17 to voters serving in the military and those living overseas.
