Summer Reading Club activities begin
The outdoor event always attracts a crowd to the library at 222 W. Cotton St., with fun foam, bounces houses, a DJ, popcorn, Kona Ice, bubbles, sidewalk chalk and more. The event is free and open to families of all ages.
The Summer Reading Club encourages children to keep reading all summer through prizes to achieve reading goals set by the program. The program includes a host of other free activities for children. Here’s a look at some of the upcoming events:
Super Smash Bros.; 2 p.m. to 4 p.m. Mondays June 10 through July 22; Longview Public Library
Story Time; 10:30 a.m. English, 11:30 a.m. Spanish, Tuesdays June 11 through July 23; Longview Public Library
Summer Reading Club Performer — “Science Tellers;” 10:30 a.m. June 12; Maude Cobb Convention and Activity Center, 100 Grand Boulevard, Longview
Family Game Night, 6 to 8:30 p.m. each Thursday, Longview Public Library
Crafty Kids; 10 a.m. to noon Fridays June 14 through July 19; Longview Public Library
