Digital Archives’ website honored again

The Washington State Digital Archives once again has been recognized by Family Tree Magazine by being mentioned in its latest issue as one of the 101 Best Free Websites for 2010. It’s under the category of “Best sites for Western US Resources.” Digital Archives has earned this distinction every year since opening its doors in 2004.

The story says: “Leading the way in digitizing its past, Washington State now has more than 85 million records online, with more than 26 million of them searchable. You’ll find vital records, censuses, land records, military records, naturalization documents and more.”

The University of Washington Libraries Digital Collections also is listed among the top 101.

The Digital Archives, headquartered on the campus of Eastern Washington University in Cheney, is part of the Washington State Archives within the Office of Secretary of State.
