CFD and Mariners offer sweet prize for Earth Day

The Washington State Combined Fund Drive is doing its part to help the environment, and honor public employees at the same time. As a part of Public Service Recognition Week, the CFD will be holding its first-ever “Go Green” contest.

From April 2 through Earth Day (April 22), every $5 that a donor signs up to contribute, or increases on his/her monthly contributions to ANY of the Combined Fund Drive’s charities in the category of ANIMALS & THE ENVIRONMENT  will be entered into a drawing to win:

  • Four free 100-level tickets to the May 5 Public Service Recognition Day game between the Seattle Mariners and the Minnesota Twins.
  • And the right to throw out the first pitch.

This incredible package is all part of Public Service Recognition Week, an event that honors public employees for their service to their community.

Don’t worry if you’re nervous about throwing in front of thousands of people. The first pitch rights are completely transferable, so you can pick anyone you want to honor with the opportunity of a lifetime.

For more information on the “Go Green” Contest, as well as a comprehensive list of each eligible charity, visit the Combined Fund Drive website.  The CFD is part of the Office of Secretary of State.
