It’s National Voter Registration Day!

If you’re eligible to vote in the upcoming General Election but haven’t registered yet, perhaps this will inspire you. Today, Sept. 25, is National Voter Registration Day.

The purpose of this designated day, which is part of (wait for it) National Voter Registration Month in September, is to make everyone aware of voter registration opportunities so people don’t miss out on exercising this powerful and important right and having their voice heard as we select our government’s leaders and decide whether to approve or reject various ballot measures.

Here in Washington, we have some voter registration deadlines before the General Election that ends Nov. 6. Saturday, Oct. 6, is the last day for mail-in registrations and updates. Monday, Oct. 8, is the final day for online registrations and updates. And Monday, Oct. 29, is the deadline to register in person at your county elections office if you haven’t registered to vote in Washington.

You can use the MyVote online tool to register to vote, update your address, learn about the candidates and ballot measures you’ll be voting on, places to return your ballot and who your elected officials are.

For those of you who already have registered or plan to soon, here is the online General Election Voters’ Guide. The printed version of the General Election Voters’ Pamphlet will be mailed in mid-October to all Washington residences.
