CFD enrollees, you can donate to Hurricane Sandy relief

If you are a public or retired employee enrolled in the Combined Fund Drive giving program , you already deserve kudos for your generosity and sense of giving back.

You now have an opportunity through the CFD to help those affected by Hurricane Sandy, which battered the East Coast in late October. As the news continues to highlight the great efforts made by everyone to come to the relief of those affected by this devastating superstorm, we are reminded that there is still more to do.

Washington state and higher education employees, students and retirees have already donated about $26,000 to the relief efforts, and the window is still open.

From now until November 23, you can make a donation to the CFD Hurricane Sandy Relief Campaign and your donation will go to the listed charities on our webpage.

A recent article from the IRS highlighted the importance of giving through organizations like the CFD, which vets our member charities, making sure that they are providing services to specific areas.
