We have many historically significant trees in Washington, and many State Archives records document the people and events related to the state’s most historic trees. Although State Archives collections mainly consist of state and local government records, many archival collections also contain photographs. Archives’ classic photos of I-5 bridge over Skagit River

Following Thursday’s collapse of the Interstate 5 bridge over the Skagit River near Mount Vernon just before the Memorial Day weekend, our State Archives staff quickly found some classic photos of the bridge from Archives’ Washington State Department of Transportation collection.
