ALA-APA RECOGNIZES SFCC LIBRARY PROGRAM

In a press release dated September 5, 2013, the American Library Association-Allied Professional Association (ALA-APA) announced that it will officially recognize graduates of the Library and Information Services Program at Spokane Falls Community College (SFCC) with the Library Support Staff Certification (LSSC) designation. The ALA-APA had reviewed the SFCC curriculum and determined that it met most of the LSSC requirements. College Civics tour: Day 3

Secretary Wyman hit the road Monday to continue her spring College Civics tour. Here she is pictured chatting with a Central Washington University student on the Ellensburg campus.  The day began with a visit to Wenatchee Valley College at Omak before stopping at CWU. Wyman then headed east for visits to Spokane Falls Community College and Eastern Washington University. The tour continues Tuesday with visits to Whatcom Community College, Western Washington University, Skagit Valley College and Pacific Lutheran University.

Our office’s Corporations and Charities Division has been even busier than usual, updating some helpful resources, adding a Facebook page, and scheduling an educational event in Spokane in May. The division recently published its new Charities and Nonprofit Board Service Handbook.
