The store ledger will face the 1906 Tenino Oregon Trail marker Thursday. The first semi starts this afternoon when the 1969 Black Panther protest photos square off against the 1980 Mount St. Helens eruption documents.

We’re down to our last of our eight first-round games. It’s the 1859-60 Crosby Store ledger against the 1857 map of Washington Territory. We’ll start the online poll for that matchup this afternoon, so be watching.

January’s Archives Treasures online poll showed that older can be more popular. Of the three candidates this month, the 1853 Washington territorial seal received 40 percent of the votes, knocking off the boxing legends’ applications (33 percent) and Legislative Building construction photos (27 percent). Next week we’ll begin a segment on interesting and cool items in the State Library, so watch for that.
