Washington Digital Newspapers brings together titles from the Historic Washington Newspapers Online collection of Washington State Library with titles digitized by the library as part of the National Digital Newspaper Program. With support from the Institute of Museum and Library Services (IMLS) using funding from Library Services and Technology Act, Washington Digital Newspapers will expand on this existing collection over the course of the 2015. Visit our Grants and Support page to learn more about these grants. The state library is a rich resource for genealogists and other researchers and one of the best “go-to” places to find Washington newspapers.

The Washington Digital Newspapers’ collection represents five main regions of Washington State. Each pin on the map below marks a city from which at least one of Washington Digital Newspapers’ titles originates. See more about these individual newspapers on our Newspaper Profiles page.
