Guv’s office next stop for state flag account bill
The Legislature has just approved a bill that would mean a lot to our overseas military personnel.
The Senate this morning unanimously passed House Bill 1121, which would create the Washington state flag account to provide for donations of Washington flags to the state’s military personnel. The House passed it 95-0 in February. The bill now goes to Gov. Gregoire for final consideration. This proposal was requested by the Office of Secretary of State and the Joint Committee on Veterans’ and Military Affairs.
For our soldiers stationed far from Washington, a simple flag can help symbolize their home state and boost their morale.
