So former Governor Gary Locke is now America’s Commerce Secretary. Wazzat?

Here’s a Q&A recently posted by the Everett Herald from an AP dispatch.

Locke, a business Democrat, was recently tapped for the Obama Cabinet, the first from Washington state since then-Congressman Brock Adams was the transportation pick for Jimmy Carter some 32 years ago. Locke took a big pay cut from his gig at a top-drawer law firm in Seattle. Before that? Governor for two terms, the country’s first Chinese-American chief executive. Before that, he was a veteran House member and helped write the state budget. He also was King County Executive. And, wisely, he married Mona Lee. The late-blooming Locke now has three youngsters … and a new job.
