As many Puget Sound residents await the unveiling of Sound Transit’s light rail system, this photo of the Seattle Municipal Street Railway gives you an idea of how Seattle light rail looked in 1888.

  1. UK had the very first light rail and tram systems in the world, set up in south Wales, UK, the trolleys used by horse-drawn at first, and later moved by steam and electric power. A new light railway system in London has been completed in preparation for the 2012 London Olympics. Also a high speed train line to Europe and Paris, France from St Pancras, London, the train travels at nearly 300km per hour. Sam E. Marsh
