More kudos for Digital Archives
Since opening up shop in 2004, Washington’s award-winning Digital Archives has received tons of praise from genealogists, researchers and others for its outstanding website, which provides access to tens of millions of records, photos and other documents.
Now Family Tree Magazine has provided the latest pat on the back. In the new September issue, under the section “State-of -the Art Archives,” the Washington State Digital Archives once again has won the distinction of being one of the “101 Best Websites” for family history research. Our Digital Archives has won this award every year since it went online. Considering that there are thousands of genealogy web sites, this is quite an achievement.
State Archivist Jerry Handfield is proud to see DA listed yet again:
“It is great to be on the Top 101 Websites again and 500,000 unique users every year is quite an accomplishment. Of course, every staff member and every division contributes to the success of the DA since we are converting many records to a digital format and adding ‘born digital’ records.”
