Remembering former Gov. Rosellini

We learned that former Governor Albert Rosellini passed away Monday morning. He was 101 years old.
Here is Secretary Reed’s statement on his death:
“This is a tremendous loss for the state of Washington. It’s been a privilege knowing Al. I first met him when he was still Governor. Al was very charming and affable. He gave me a lot of encouragement throughout my career, especially during my years as Secretary of State. He will be greatly missed.”
Above is a photo from our Digital Archives showing Rosellini on March 11, 1957, signing into law the bill creating the State Library Building on the Capitol Campus. The State Library was moved out of that structure (now called the Joel Pritchard Building) and placed into an office building in Tumwater in 2001.
