Cherry blossoms!
Washington’s Capitol Campus is a great place to visit year-round, but it’s especially worth a look now with the Japanese cherry trees exploding with pink blossoms. There is a row of these trees in bloom on either side of the appropriately named Cherry Lane SW, just east of the domed Legislative Building.
If you want to see the cherry blossoms this spring, do it soon. They’ll fall off the trees in a few days.
Some of the rhododendrons (Washington’s state flower) are also in bloom throughout the campus, with more to appear later.
