Reed visits Skagit County
As part of his goal of visiting all 39 counties in Washington during his final year in office, Secretary Reed is in the northwestern part of the state for the next couple of days. He’s shown here talking with a patron at the Mount Vernon City Library. His Skagit County visit Monday also included stops at the county courthouse in Mount Vernon and the Skagit County Historical Society Museum in La Conner, as well as a speaking engagement before the Rotary Club of La Conner. Reed’s tour continues Tuesday with visits to Island County and Whatcom County.

We were privileged and delighted to host Secretary Reed and his assistant here at the Skagit County Historical Museum where they toured our featured exhibit Peak of Their Professions-The Murrow Brothers. It was fun to hear the Secretary’s memories of meeting our county’s favorite son Edward R. Murrow. The people of Washington are fortunate to have such a dedicated public servant and Sam will be sorely missed.
