Check out our new “I Voted” e-sticker!
Have you voted yet?
If your answer is yes, you should check out our Elections Division conception. They have created a cool “I voted” e-sticker for you to use on Facebook!
The sticker is a simple green circle that tells people “I voted,” with those words prominently displayed in the picture. You can use the e-sticker as your profile pic or post it to your wall to show your friends your democratic participation and support for civic engagement.
“We came up with the idea because we felt it was a good way for people to remind each other about the importance of voting,” said Cristina Labra, who does outreach for the state Elections Division. “The concept is similar to the stickers you used to get at poll sites and we are excited about translating it to the online world through Facebook.”
The “I voted” e-sticker is part of a larger voter outreach campaign to leverage the power of social media. Recently, Washington made national headlines with the announcement that the Secretary of State will be launching an app that will allow users to register to vote via Facebook. The Secretary of State and Elections Division Facebook pages also gives them the option to like the app and recommend it to their friends.
With the Tuesday primary quickly approaching, there is no better time to download our e-sticker and remind your friends to vote. Just click here and in a few seconds you’ll be ready to go!
