Photos of presidents visiting our state!
In honor of Presidents Day, we’re taking a look back at those occasions when a U.S. president has left the White House to visit our own Washington. Our Digital Archives has several photos showing presidents in The Evergreen State over the years.
First up is a 1908 photo of President Theodore Roosevelt (left) touring Fort George Wright in Spokane.
Next up is this 1919 shot of President Woodrow Wilson appearing in a top hat during a parade in Seattle.
The third photo shows President John F. Kennedy (left) riding in a parade in Seattle alongside U.S. Senator Warren Magnuson and Governor Albert Rosellini.
Last but not least, we have a 1968 photo of Republican nominee Richard Nixon (right) with Governor Dan Evans at a campaign event in Seattle, months before Nixon was elected the 37th president.

Hi Brian,
You might want to include FDR and Truman who each visited our state multiple times in connection with Grand Coulee Dam.
Hi Scott – Good point. – Brian
