PT library returns to Carnegie building.
After a two-year closure, the Port Townsend Library has reopened in its Carnegie location, beginning the next chapter for the 101-year-old building. (Peninsula Daily News, Port Angeles, 08/05/14).

What will it take to provide Concrete residents full access to Upper Skagit Library? It’s looking like annexation into the library district is the most reasonable option for the Town of Concrete. (Concrete Herald, Concrete, 08/00/14).

Library deserves publicity.
“I note with some dismay that The Pioneer has chosen to run a lengthy article on the Hood River County Library for the second week in a row. Meanwhile, the many programs and events at the Skamania county libraries in Stevenson and North Bonneville and the rural bookmobile go unmentioned.” (The Skamania county Pioneer, Stevenson, 08/13/14).

Programs/Displays

Local libraries feature art exhibit, movie.

Science and math expo makes engineering fun.
The Burlington Public Library hosted a Science and Math Expo on Tuesday, July 8 in Burlington to introduce children to intriguing aspects of engineering. Bridge-building and testing projects for children were facilitated by engineers from Wilson Engineering and Kingworks Consulting Engineers. (Skagit Valley Herald, Mount Vernon, 08/10/14).

Quilt show to benefit new library.
The Friends of the Point Roberts Library (FOPRL) is presenting a quilt show and sale of the work of Judy Ross, with all proceeds going to the new library building project. (All Point Bulletin, Point Roberts, 08/00/14).

One-on-one technology tutoring offered at Port Angeles Library.
The Port Angeles Library is offering free 30 minute tutoring on technology. Participants, who are asked to bring their own devices, will be guided through the process of downloading e-books or e-audio books for services such as Washington Anytime Library, 3-M, and Oneclick Digital.
