Our Legacy Washington program is getting ready for the Sept. 14 launch of its new exhibit in our front lobby, “Korea 65: The Forgotten War Remembered.” The exhibit tells the stories of 13 Washingtonians who experienced the Korean War in different ways, from U.S. soldiers who fought in the war, to a nurse who worked in a MASH unit, to Korean Americans who grew up in Korea during or after the war. Our month-ling Quilts of Valor exhibit was taken down earlier this week, so the walls in our office’s front lobby are unusually bare. But that won’t last for long. Patriotism in every stitch

Currently being hung in the Secretary of State’s lobby in the State Capitol are 13 “Quilts of Valor”. Each quilt has been beautifully handmade by residents of Washington and will be proudly displayed for the month of July. The lobby is being transformed to a patriotic display of red, white, and blue. The project is part of the Quilts of Valor program that has awarded over 80,000 quilts to veterans and current service members affected by war. These quilts bring color to the Office…
