Before his final year in office began, Secretary Reed vowed to visit all 39 counties in Washington in 2012. After this week’s trip to Central Washington, he has completed his final visit as Secretary of State to all but four five counties. Taking his final tour of the northwestern part of our state, Secretary of State Reed is visiting Coupeville, the Island County seat located in the central part of beautiful Whidbey Island.  Reed chatted with Island County Auditor Sheilah Crider and staff at the Island County Courthouse, and took a tour of the Island County Historical Society Museum.  Later this afternoon, Reed will travel to Bellingham. Washington’s youngest county is celebrating its 100th birthday. Secretary Reed is shown above with Thurston County Auditor Kim Wyman (left) and Pend Oreille County Auditor Marianne Nichols (right) Wednesday at an event in Newport to mark Pend Oreille’s centennial as a county.
