Our really high-tech tourney bracket shows the path to victory for the Black Panther protest photos. After more than three weeks of ‘November Nuttiness,’ our first Archives Treasures tourney is down to two teams. Archives tourney: Crosby Store ledger reaches final

We have our two finalists in the Archives Treasures tourney. The 1859-60 Crosby Store ledger made it to the title game after defeating the 1906 Tenino Oregon Trail marker photo in the second semifinal, 60 percent to 40 percent. The ledger now faces the formidable 1969 Black Panther protest photos, which have cruised to easy wins throughout the tournament. The online poll for the championship game starts early this afternoon, so be ready to vote!

We’re down to the Final Four in our Archives Treasures tourney. Archives tourney: Black Panther photos beat Satsop festival pix

The first quarterfinal matchup  in the Archives Treasures tourney is in the books. The 1969 Black Panther protest photos blew out the 1971 Satsop rock festival photos, 64 percent to 36 percent, so the Black Panther photos advance to the semifinals next week. The second quarterfinal, which starts this afternoon, is another classic battle, with the 1980 Mount St. Helens eruption documents taking on the 1874 Seattle photos.

The opening “game” of our Archives Treasures’ “November Nuttiness” tourney ended this morning. The photos of the 1969 Black Panther protest in Olympia emerged victorious, gathering 62 percent of the vote. The 1940 Tacoma Narrows Bridge plans received 38 percent. We’ll start our online poll for Game 2 of the first round later today. Which Archives items or collections will be in this matchup? Watch our blog!
