Rain or shine, the Capitol Campus is a great place to visit this time of the spring, thanks to the colorful outburst of flowers and tree blossoms. On the east side of the Legislative Building, flowers are starting to appear on the rhododendron bushes. Behind this blooming rhody, you’ll notice that the cherry trees are still showing off their blossoms on either side of the appropriately named Cherry Lane.
Need an excuse to come to Olympia this week? Just check out the blossoms on the rows of cherry trees on the east side of the Legislative Building. Seeing the cherry trees in bloom during a sunny spring day is a highlight for Capitol workers and visitors alike.
Washington’s Capitol Campus is a great place to visit year-round, but it’s especially worth a look now with the Japanese cherry trees exploding with pink blossoms. There is a row of these trees in bloom on either side of the appropriately named Cherry Lane SW, just east of the domed Legislative Building. Despite the cold, wet weather the past several weeks (OK, months), one sign that spring is actually (allegedly?) here is when the cherry trees and rhododendrons are in bloom on the Capitol Campus. That was evident during a much-welcomed sunny afternoon earlier this week in Olympia as one of the trees on the east side of the Legislative Building was bursting with blossoms.
