On the day before Americans celebrate the nation’s birthday, Secretary of State Reed visited Joint Base Lewis-McChord Tuesday to attend the change of command ceremony in which the base’s outgoing commander, Lt. Sgt. 1st Class Leroy Petry, who received the Medal of Honor from President Obama during a White House ceremony last week, visited our State Capitol Wednesday morning. The Olympian has this story about Petry’s visit to Joint Base Lewis-McChord Tuesday.
