Free stuff: Archives 101
If you have interesting historical photos or records and want to know how to take care of them, check this out: The State Archives and other historical agencies are presenting “The Basics of Archives,” a series of free one-day workshops throughout Washington in October. The workshops are designed for people who work with historical records but aren’t trained archivists.
The free workshops, all from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m., will be held on the following dates:
● Monday, October 5, at the State Archives’ Puget Sound Branch (3000 Landerholm Circle SE in Bellevue).
● Thursday, October 15, at the State Archives’ Central Branch (northwest corner of 14th and D streets in Ellensburg).
● Wednesday, October 21, at Battle Ground City Hall (109 SW 1st St. in Battle Ground).
● Thursday, October 29, at the National Archives, Pacific-Alaska Region (6125 Sand Point Way NE in Seattle).
Pre-registration is required, and enrollment is limited. The registration deadline is October 1. To per-register, contact Mark Vessey at the Heritage Resource Center at 360-586-0219 (phone), 360 586-8322 (fax) or [email protected] (e-mail).
The workshops are happening in conjunction with State Archives Month, which runs throughout October.
