February “Archives treasures” item #2: Wilson in WA

Yesterday, we began our February round of “Archives treasures” with the Penitentiary Inmate Files of 1881-1902.
In light of President Obama’s visit to the Evergreen State Friday, and the upcoming Presidents Day holiday, we chose as our second “contestant” this photograph of President Woodrow Wilson, pictured in his top hat while visiting Seattle in 1919.
More than 500,000 photographs dating back to the mid-1800s can be found in the State Archives. Photographs of politicians, special events, the construction of the Capitol, and much more are available online in our Digital Archives collection.
On Monday we will unveil the third “Archives treasure” of the month, so be watching for that!
