According to at least one Web site, the geographic center of Washington is located in Chelan County, about 10 miles west-southwest of Wenatchee. However, some people in Ellensburg might beg to differ. On the Central Washington University campus in E-burg, there is a marker indicating the “exact” spot where Washington’s geographic bull’s-eye is located. For those who want to check out the marker, it’s next to Shaw-Smyser Hall, located on North D Street, just off University Way (formerly 8th Avenue).
