Join us on January 30 to unravel the Ruddell Riddle!

Washington State Digital Archives - View Media_1259602901568 Whether you are a descendant of the Ruddell family or you’re just interested in learning about your family’s history, please join us in Olympia on Saturday, January 30, for a special event that highlights the history of one of Washington’s pioneering families. Also attend workshops about researching and capturing your family’s history.

As a Ruddell descendant, you might know only a little of your family’s amazing history. Or you might know family stories that others have not heard. In either case, you need to attend this event that will give family descendants an opportunity to connect with each other and share fascinating stories about their ancestors.

During this program, the State Archives, State Library, local heritage organizations and volunteer genealogists will combine resources to 1) unravel the story of local pioneer Stephen Duley Ruddell, who came to the Olympia area in the 1850s and became a key figure during Washington’s territorial days, and 2) offer workshops that teach the fundamentals of researching family genealogy.

Where: State Archives Building, 1129 Washington St. SE, Olympia
