DigitalLearn for Digital Literacy
DigitalLearn.org is a new web site for digital literacy support being developed by the Public Library Association with a grant from the Institute of Museum and Library Services. This new tool and resource will enable library users to increase their digital literacy skills through self-directed trainings, and will facilitate the sharing of tools and best practices by library staff who provide digital literacy training.
On March 6, Jamie Hollier, from the Public Library Association, provided an overview of the DigitalLearn.org project, including the process being used to develop it and features that would make the site easy and fun to use including:
- No need for plugins or specific browsers;
- The ability of end users to track their progress;
- User-responsive design.
A limited rollout of DigitalLearn.org will occur on March 21, 2013, with the full rollout tentatively scheduled for June 2013.
